We specialize in capturing and adapting great dance / theatre productions for the screen, and bringing them to a wide audience.
3 minutes West has produced, directed and distributed many award-winning performances from companies such as The Royal Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Dutch National Opera & Ballet, the Mariinsky Ballet, Bayerisches Staatsballett, Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, Kidd Pivot and Electric Company Theatre, Michael Clark Company, Skånes Dansteater and Malmö Opera.
We have captured the works of many world-renowned choreographers and theatre directors including Christopher Wheeldon OBE, Alexei Ratmansky, Jirí Kylián, Crystal Pite, Alexander Ekman, Ohad Naharin, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, George Balanchine, Ted Brandsen, William Forsythe, Michael Clark, Ben Wright and Hans van Manen.
We work closely with performing arts producers - from prestigious national opera houses to individual artists - to develop exciting, creative ways of bringing the arts to a broader audience.
We've had a few firsts. We developed and produced the first ever cinema series of contemporary dance for Pathé Live, in collaboration with Nederlands Dans Theater - one of the greatest dance-theatre companies in the world.
Our production of Don Quichot was the first full-length ballet to be released on iTunes.
We were the first to include a Choreographer's commentary on our DVD & Blu-Ray release of Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella.
And we're currently developing Coppelia, the first feature film to combine animation with live action ballet.
